The second Tuesday evening race of the season featured a strong westerly wind (Force 4-5) and a limited number of willing competitors. After some discussion, the race was briefly delayed to allow Malcolm to switch his Laser to a Radial sail and for Jim to reef his Wayfarer and welcome an additional crew member – Susie Sturrock. The wind abated enough to allow a good start with Malcolm getting clean away. At times during the race, the Wayfarer was struggling to windward and, with the course favouring the Laser, Malcolm duly overtook Jim and pressed on. Both craft failed to hear the finish 'hooter' and did an extra lap in strengthening conditions but all appeared to enjoy the evening.
